Dressing Trombone Shorty for the Grammys 2026

Stylist Ali McNally let us know that Trombone Shorty would be presenting and performing at the 2026 Grammys. We’re huge fans and were excited to put our hat in the ring. From there, we got right to work.

The timeline was tight, so we cleared the schedule, pulled out fabric swatches and sketchbooks, and began designing something that felt true to Troy’s personal style while rising to the black-tie moment.

To be entrusted with creating a look for a local legend on such a big occasion was a true honor.

We’ve always loved a cotton velvet dinner jacket, and this deep hunter green felt like the perfect balance of swagger and polish. “Money Green”. We finished it with a wide peak lapel and a dropped gorge, then paired it with classic black tuxedo trousers, a covered-placket shirt, and James’ personal alligator cufflinks and bow tie. Behind the collar, we tucked a quiet detail, Grammys 2026, as a small marker of the moment.

Seeing Troy take the stage to both perform and present, wearing a KILBY tuxedo designed here in his home city of New Orleans, meant a lot to us. We’re grateful for the trust, the collaboration, and the chance to be part of a moment like this.
