We’re a husband and wife atelier built on the belief that clothing should be made with intention and worn with ease. Each garment is designed and made to measure for the individual client, crafted by skilled hands from fine European fabrics.

Every piece begins with a conversation. Our clients often become friends, and our atelier a place of community where stories are shared over a drink and fittings turn into visits.

The name KILBY honors James’s grandfather, James Kilby Collier, a corporal in the Army Air Corps who valued craft, family, and the small luxuries of daily life. His appreciation for detail continues to guide our work.

We are passionate about the art of tailoring: the quiet precision of a hand-attached sleeve head draping over a shoulder, the balance of proportion, the pursuit of perfect fit. Every decision, from pattern to pressing, is made with care and a craftsman’s eye.

Our House Style combines refined tailoring with Southern ease. Soft shoulders, light structure, and natural fabrics define a wardrobe that feels personal to its wearer and endures through seasons and milestones. Over time, these pieces become trusted companions, sometimes even heirlooms in their own right.

Kilby embodies what we love most about our home city of New Orleans: a slower pace, a respect for history and artisan craft, a generosity of spirit, and the belief that good things are worth waiting for.
